The process
How it works
Three steps, and one minute that's yours. Here's what to expect before, during, and after you join the show.
The three steps
-
Reach out
Choose a way to contact the show: send a participation request or call us. You can take part by phone or by video through StreamYard.
Use your first name, a nickname, or stay anonymous. Anonymous is the default.
-
Connect with the team
A producer talks with you privately, for about a minute, before you go on. Nothing in this check-in is broadcast. Your producer will:
- explain how recording and broadcasting work,
- confirm whether you'll stay anonymous or use your first name,
- ask you to confirm out loud that you agree to be recorded and broadcast,
- make sure we take care of you right before you go live.
Video guests receive their private StreamYard link from the producer after this check-in.
-
Share your minute
You're on. Sixty seconds to five minutes, whatever's on your mind. We listen, and we only respond the way you want us to. No advice unless you ask for it. No judgment, ever.
Recording & broadcast
What you're agreeing to
Off Your Chest Show is recorded and broadcast publicly. Recordings may be published as replays, episodes, and short clips on our website, podcast platforms, and official social media accounts, and they may be edited for length.
Before you go on air, your producer will explain this and ask you to confirm that you agree. If you don't agree, you won't be put on air, and you can stop or change your mind at any point before your segment starts.
Once something has been broadcast live, it can't be taken back from people who already watched or listened, and copies made by others are outside our control. If you'd like a recording of your segment removed from our own channels, contact us and we'll review your request.
Calling us or sending a request never puts you on air by itself. A producer always speaks with you first.
Your identity
Anonymous or named, and the limits of both
Anonymous is our default. Unless you tell us you'd like your first name used, we won't say your name on air.
Anonymous means anonymous to our audience. Our production team still knows the contact details you give us so we can reach you. And because the show is broadcast, we can lower the chance of you being recognized but we can't promise it never happens:
- People who know you may recognize your voice.
- On video, your face, room, and background can identify you.
- Specific details in your story, like names, places, workplaces, or dates, can identify you or others.
- Social media platforms and streaming services have their own privacy policies that we don't control.
Your producer will talk through these limits with you before you go on air, and you can change your mind at any point before then.
Before you join
Who can take part
- You must be 18 or older to take part in the show.
- Sending a request doesn't guarantee we'll contact you, select you, or put you on air.
- Please don't share other people's private information, like full names or contact details, on air.
- This is peer support: a space to be heard. It isn't therapy, counseling, or emergency care.
